I just got back yesterday from an 8-day backpacking trip in Grand Canyon.

To access the Lava-Chuar-Carbon valleys, we had to "hitch" across the river and back. Coming back across last Friday we met a fantastically friendly 14- person private group headed by Bob White, on a layover day at Carbon beach. They were very gracious and invited us to spaghetti & salad dinner, and a breakfast of granola & yogurt on Saturday morning... also fresh grapefruit.Since we had been eating freeze dried backpacker meals for five days it was a real treat!

Bob mentioned that they had turned to Cocina Del Rio for supply and had nothing but GREAT THINGS to say about your service and your food. Of course, we had already tasted the food ourselves and knew how good it was.

Just thought I'd pass this along... Bob & Crew should be somewhere below Phantom Ranch and about half way through their adventure by now. I'm sure they are having a great time.

I hope to pull a private permit of my own some day, and when I do you can bet I'll be calling you for assistance!

I want to thank you for a superb job of food prep for our 21 day, 14 person private trip on the Grand Canyon. We toasted you many times on the river. Everything was as advertised. The food was well organized, easy to prepare, offered great variety, and was delicious.

Thanks for helping address the special dietary needs of one of our members without sacrifice to the rest of us. Will recommend you to my friends and contact you the next time I need help with fine river cuisine.

The menu, the fact that much of the food was pre-cooked and most especially, the short preparation times made preparing and eating a joy, as compared to the endless preparation times that were formerly the norm.
